Friday Video: Escape From City 17 - Part One

I've tried playing Half-Life and Half-Life 2, but simply can't. I just get motion sickness, which I somehow don't get playing Halo, Gears of War or even Call of Duty 4. Still, I love the premise of the game, and The Purchase Brothers do an amazing job making a mini-series out of it.

Looking forward to Part Two.

[Sat morning: This post should have gone up last evening, but somehow I screwed-up the schedule]

That's odd. I've never heard of people getting motion sickness by playing Half-Life or Half-Life 2. Maybe Mirrors Edge but that's understandable.
You're a weird one. :P

For some reason when posting using my myvidoop.com openid, it sometimes posts as Godlesswanderer and sometimes as articulatedsky. I need to try and work out how to keep it posting as Godlesswanderer.

I've heard a lot of people saying they got motion sickness playing HL2. Apparently it has something to do with the default FOV (field of view) they use. There are guides out there that explain how to change the setting to change the FOV and it should help considerably if you're having the problem. For example, check the comments here:

Great piece of work, but chapter 2 needs to delve more into the story, not just shooting and pointless talking.

Yep i get the same queasiness while playing. I'll have to try that out, Cheers Spectre.

@Spectre - Thanks for the tips, will certainly give it a try!

@free games - Agreed, but with the cut scenes inserted at the end, we can expect a lot more content for the next episodes.
