Day of Darkness II - The ultimate fanmade video?

I remember seeing the original Day of Darkness video and being blown away by its quality. The man behind these videos, Dire Lauthris, is no stranger to any fan of EVE Online fan made video, having being featured twice here on my blog. But his latest achievement goes beyond anything that we've seen so far.

I know that most of you have seen the video by now, but I still wanted to post it here, to easily be able to go back to it and enjoy this master piece. Play it again Sam!

Make sure to watch it in HD to truly enjoy its magnificence!

This video is gorgeous--beautifully conceived and executed. I have watched it many times. But to be honest, I still rate Clear Skies higher, due to sheer effort required to complete the project overall and its unique perspective.

That said, Dire Lauthris deserves all the accolades he's getting--this is an exemplary work. I wish it was 5x as long!

Agreed, but since both offer two different styles, it's hard to compare them side by side. In the end, the Community benefits from both these great works!

Really awesome blog. I enjoyed reading this review from you. I found that you really update your site regularly that made me more interesting. I've bookmarked your site for my future use.

Thank you

As awesome as the vid is, the voiceover is the thing that lets it down.
The use of a space-station bio-dome to simulate the underwater dome at the start is inspired.

But little things like "The Galente war-machine grinded into action" really break the flow of awesome.

That said... I can't fault the video. Fantastic work.
