EVE Online Speedlinking for December 31st, 2008

Well here we are. The last Speedlinking post of 2008. Well it is for me and some of the folks west of the North American east coast. I'm working on a review of the past year, so I won't go into many details and wishes to you all. That'll be in tomorrow morning's post. So without further delays, here are the last links of '08! Enjoy!

You still with me here?

As with many EVE Bloggers the end of the year has seen me very busy with RL (and work). I'm writing this during my lunch break, while at work. Over the last few days, I've managed to get a few hours in EVE, but at the price of not making last Friday's EVE Speedlinking post. A guy can have some fun n'est-ce pas?

No worries though, as I've decided to post the last speedlinking post of the year this week, on the last day of 2008.

Looking back at my posts over the last year, I've decided to focus a bit more on my game play over the coming year. I'll try to get back to a more personal point of view with EVE as I really enjoyed the feedback I got. Of course, I will continue maintaining the EVE Blogroll, Blog Pack and Blog Banter, as well as get back to a regular schedule for my podcasts.

Expect to see more daily posts over the next few weeks!

See you in space!

EVE Blog Banter #3: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

Welcome to the third installment of the EVE Blog Banter, the monthly EVE Online blogging extravaganza created by yours truly. The EVE Blog Banter involves an enthusiastic group of gaming bloggers, a common topic within the realm of EVE Online, and a week to post articles pertaining to the said topic. The resulting articles can either be short or quite extensive, either funny or dead serious, but are always a great fun to read! Any questions about the EVE Blog Banter should be directed here. Check out other EVE Blog Banter articles at the bottom of this post!

This month's EVE Blog Banter comes to us from Roc Wieler of Roc's Ramblings. Roc's asks us to "write a story about a fellow EVE Blogger, or an EVE player whom has inspired you or affected you in some tangible way. After your story, describe why you chose them, and any Holiday wish you have specifically for them".

Wow, that's a tough one! One EVE Blogger, eh? One player, just one? That would be impossible in my case, because there's more than one individual who has influenced me in doing what I do for the EVE community.

EVE Online Speedlinking for December 19th, 2008

It's been 2 weeks now since my last Speedlink post and a lot has been going on — both in EVE and RL. The biggest news of the past 2 weeks has been the Starbase Exploit, which seems to be bigger than originally thought (by yours truly anyway). As always, CCP and the EVE Community will weather the storm, and will come out stronger as a result. Within a few days, we'll leave 2008 behind us, and embrace the New Year. And with it, new patches, new content, a new retail client and much more!

Just to keep you updated on my situation, over the last week I've worked on adding new blogs to the EVE Blogroll, trying to compile the EVE Fanfest contest results, writing an EON article on the Fanfest, and some more. Oh, and trying to play the game, because you know, that's the whole idea eh!

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and am proud to see that the EVE Blogging Community has been hard at work providing you with amazing content over the last few weeks. Show them your love by dropping by their blogs and leaving as many comments as you can! They'll appreciate it!

Now on to the links!

Learn a little more about David "CrazyKinux" Perry

It's been quite hectic the last 2 weeks, with a new job and 2 week-ends full of activity. The next one is more of the same, with both Saturday an Sunday scheduled with family activities. Hey, it's that time of the year.

Nevertheless, I'm slowly catching up to my EVE Community activities - one item at a time. I've unfortunately have had to skip last Friday's Speedlinking post, and will have 2-weeks worth of links come this next Friday. As well, the I'm still working on the editing of MicroWarpCast.

In the mean time, I've recently been tagged by fellow EVE Online player Richard Slater

So here goes...

EVE Online Speedlinking for December 5th, 2008

I'll be honest, this week I'm a tad more focused on RL, than on EVE. Despite this, and having gone through the EVE Blogsphere articles, I have to say the activity is not subsiding at all, and I'm quite happy to share the links below.

Also, this week we've got 8 new blogs added to the EVE Blogroll, for a grand total of 134. Now, I do know that I promised a clean-up of the list, which may, or may not reduce the total amount. At the very least you may see a few "Out of Date" or "No longer Active" appear next to some blogs. I'm on it, like Obama on Change!

Top EVE Online Bloggers You Should be Following on Twitter

Twitter is the latest social media craze. Though I wasn't too fund of the idea that people could follow me in whatever I told them I was doing, in April of this year I finally jumped in and created my @CrazyKinux account. The rest they say, is history.

For the EVE Online player, a twitter account allows him or her to connect and follow with other players and get tips, share experiences, and get to be the first to learn of EVE Bloggers new posts.

I've decided to put together a Top 10 list of the most interesting EVE Twitters that you should follow. Of course there are many others, but as a starting point, the following folks are a great start!
and of course
  • CCP Games - @CCPGames - Though they don't tweet as often as we'd like too!
All the players above tweet regularly and provide good advice and friendly help. If you're looking to engage with some helpful EVE Blogger through Twitter, there's no better bunch of folks to follow!

Oh yeah, just don't forget to add me to that list: @CrazyKinux. Well at least I hope I worthy of your Follows!

Feel free to add your Twitter ID in the comments below!

Review of (an amazing) November 2008 at CrazyKinux's Musings

November 2008 was a month like no other at CrazyKinux's Musings. Both in terms of content, visitors and comments. It was also a hectic month in terms of RL, with some crucial job interviews at the beginning of the month, which landed me an amazing career opportunity at CNW Group.

Of course, the EVE Fanfest 2008 was responsible for the majority of the sites traffic in the first few days of the month. Iceland and the folks at CCP were amazing and I plan to attend the 2009 edition as well! Maybe this time Mrs CK will tag along and we can spend a few more days visiting the natural beauty of the country.
