The Safe Spot — Episode 17: Multi-Boxing and ganking

I’m still shaking off a man cold, but Rixx and I had plenty to talk about in episode 17 of The Safe Spot.

We start with a practical PvP tip before getting into multi-boxing, high-sec ganking, and what happens when finding other people to fight starts feeling like running into somebody’s farming operation.

Afterburners, micro-warpdrives, and getting scrammed — Rixx explains why your propulsion choice matters, how a warp scrambler shuts down a microwarpdrive, and when fitting both an afterburner and an MWD might be worth the sacrifices.

Ganking and the price of getting greedy — We talk through cargo scanning, CONCORD response times, and how gankers choose their targets, with Rixx sharing the freighter loss that reminded him to stick to his own cargo limits.

Multi-boxing and disappearing content — Drawing on my recent Reddit conversations and Rixx’s experience in low-sec, we discuss how large multi-boxed fleets can crowd players out of faction warfare plexes and other sites, while talking through the differences between using alts, running multiple accounts manually, and automation.

Could Fenris curb it? — We kick around account limits, diminishing rewards, and warp disruption inside plexes, but keep coming back to how difficult it would be to curb the behaviour we’re frustrated with without hurting ordinary players, and why some actual numbers from Fenris would help.

The people behind the ships — We wrap up by talking about the fights, conversations, and unexpected friendships that keep EVE interesting, and invite multi-boxers to share their side of the story because there’s still plenty we’d like to understand.
