The EVE Blog Pack & Banters are looking for a new home. Are you up for it?

Earlier this week I tweeted that I was looking for someone to take over the maintenance of both the EVE Blog Pack and the EVE Blog Banters. At this point in time I'm looking to enjoy the game more then to promote the EVE Blogging Community. Something I've not been much of these passed few months, despite trying!

Indeed, over the last 3 years the Community has become a healthy vibrant landscape of EVE Online blogs and Twitter personalities, far beyond what I could have ever imagined. And now it's time to hand over these two very special initiatives to someone (or group) who will give the care and nurturing needed. That might sound very "paternal", but when you've poured your heart and soul into something, it almost feels as is they're alive.

But let me reassure you, I'm no leaving the EVE community, au contraire! Being less involved in maintaining the Banters and Pack will free me to focus on playing the game, and even dare I say blog about it. There are of course other circumstances that have forced me to come to this decision. I've recently accepted a position within the gaming industry, and to prevent any conflict of interest with my new employer, I'd rather have someone else take over the role of caretaker for the Banters and Pack. At this point, I can't say more about this new opportunity, but you'll get to learn more in a few weeks. And no, it's not CCP! :p

So, who's up for it? Who's got the passion, the time and the guts to take this role? I don't yet know how we'll make the transition, but we'll figure something out!

Please use the comments below to put forth your candidacy and offers. Let's have a healthy, friendly discussion!

It's sad to see you have to hand this off, but it sounds like you are doing it for a pile of good and exciting reasons!

If you, or whoever takes over for you, are interested, the OPML site listing already has the code in place to handle the blog pack. An administrator just has to check an extra box on the blogs that are part of the pack and they go into their own special OPML file that can be loaded into google or setup as a blog pack there. If someone is looking for a more streamlined way to handle it, that is always available.

Congratulations on your new opportunities, both in real life and in EVE!

Two things . . . 1) I love seeing that you are watching the same movies with your kids I did with mine.

2) I am VERY glad to see that you are wise enough to step back BEFORE burnout and just play again.

I have the time (student) and will (huge fan of Eve bloggers) to manage the blog pack, but my own blog is neither very popular nor very active.

If someone with a prominent blog is willing to step up, I would wholeheartedly support that, but in the case that none are willing, keep me in mind.

Well, depending on the amount of work involved, it may be something that we (EVE University) can take on.

We're neutral (as much as we can be) and already have a very active community, blog, spare resources and so on, including a Management position in the corp dedicated to running the blog and social media side of

i'm sure there are those probably more worthy or with existing tech to handle things, but if you want things to remain with a blogger, just let me know. We can talk about it.

On the other hand, I am sorry to see you leave it, but excited for your opportunities.

I am interested as well...I am used to hosting websites, have an interest in getting more into blogging and the eve community as a whole, and I have some ideas that I think would be great for the banters and blog pack.

I have come very close toeve, and barring CCP closing it, plan on being here for some time as well. And should you ever decide you want to come back to you baby, I would understand as well.

I would love the opportunity to continue the thing that sparked my interest to begin blogging in the first place.

This is PyrpTech03 on twitter by the way...as im gonna be using google account for the comment.

So I guess this is a bad time to ask about getting into the Pack eh? :P

Congrats on the new job, that's pretty awesome :D Although all the mystery makes me curious ;)

Good to see you'll be enjoying Eve...*checks locator agents*

I can sympathise with your problem, competing commitments demand that I spend far more time away from EvE than is ideal. With this in mind I'd be foolish to apply for this great opportunity. But I'd like to wish you the very best of luck in yer new position and I hope that whomever is to take over such a stellar role, that they do half as grand a job as you CK.

But with any luck our paths may cross in New Eden and we can share an exchange of gunfire ;)

Sorry to see you have to put the blogpack to the side, though I understand it completely. Regardless, I've always appreciated the huge opportunity you've given EVE Travel by putting it into the Pack at a relatively young age. I don't think I would have the readership I have today without it.

Of course, best of luck in the new job, and I look forward to seeing you in-game!
