Speedlinking for the week-end of December 11th, 2010

The last 2 weeks have been crazy in RL, but never the less I'm slowly getting ready to get back into the game. I'm about to get ready to get into some 1vs1 PvP with a folks who responded to my plea for a sensei. So I should I some interesting news and postings in the next few days. But for now, here's the latest articles that have come to my attention:

Speedlinking for the week-end of November 27th, 2010

Those of you who have been long time readers, know that I use to have this regular series of post called the Speedlinks, where I would provide a list of posts, articles and videos related to EVE Online in some way or another, or in some cases, not at all.

I'm happy to tell you that the series is back, thanks to the ease with which Google Chrome allows me to track and collect these bookmarks over the last week. So without further ado, and in no particular order, here are those links:

CK's Friday Speedlinks for August 20th, 2010

As summer slowly comes to an end and the cool winds of autumn start to make themselves felt at night, it's time a shake down of this blog. Regular readers will have noticed that its been a while since my last post. Some might wonder what's happening with this blog, now that I've left the EVE Blog Pack. All I can say for now is that all these changes are for the good. More on that later.

For now, here's a an updated post series that used to be known as "EVE Speedlinking for...". I've indeed decided to rework the formula and bring you a different more diverse speedlinking experience. This new series will have lots of EVE Online content of course, but will allow me to post links to anything that's peaked my curiosity; whether EVE-related, scifi-related or just plain cool geek stuff.

Hope you enjoy this first of many!

    CrazyKinux's Speedlinking for the week-end of April 18th, 2010

I use to have these EVE Online Speedlinking posts way back when I had the time to roam the EVE InterTubes. Back then, there wasn't as many blogs to cover, and the information was manageable. Today, it would be a full time job to find, to link to, provide a synopsis of these posts, and still have a life. As such, I've decided to provide a list of some of the most interesting blog posts, articles or videos I find and share them with you as is. They'll still contain some EVE Online material, but they often may not. Think of it as a bookmarking attempt at my interests. I hope you still enjoy!

    EVE Online Fanfest 2009 Speedlinking

I'm slowly gathering all the good articles and information that I come across in regards to the EVE Online Fanfest Coverage - articles, facts, photos, blog roundups, etc. I'll keep updating this post as I find new info. If you've written something or are aware of a great article I haven't linked too (and there are plenty of these), then please add them to the comments and I'll add it to the list.

What we've learned so far on:

    EVE Online
    • Ship formations with added bonuses will soon be introduced
    • The next expansion, Dominion, is to be launched on December 1st, 2009
    • COSMOS social network has been renamed "New Eden"; and some folks just don't agree with the new name
    • New Tech III loot as well as Tech III Frigates are coming
    • Planetary ring mining (been looking forward to this one for quite some time)
    • Comet mining (been promised this way back when)
    • @chocolips' take on what COSMOS is - pre-Fanfest

    DUST 514
    • Will have customizable vehicles. with modules like eve ships.
    • DUST 514 is a large-scale multiplayer FPS in the style of the Battlefield 2142
    • Will have Microtransactions to allow access to blueprints and stuff.
    • DUST Corps and EvE corps can be in the same alliance.
    • DUST players act as mercenaries in the pay of EVE Online's space pilots.
    • DUST 514 will have microtransactions (aka Micropayments)

EVE Online Speedlinking for Saturday August 15th, 2009

It's been a while since I last did one of these. Speedlinking posts take a lot of time to put together and as we're currently expecting a second MiniCK in the next few weeks, most of my free time over the past few months has been spent taking care of the two current ladies in my life, leaving little time for long gaming session or the research needed to put together these Speedlinking posts.

A change in my methodology was needed if I wanted to start doing these posts on a regular basis again. Having gone through several tweaks, I think I've nailed it down to an art form, which should result in having this feature on a weekly schedule again. Anyways that's the idea! So here goes...

    EVE Blogosphere
    Massively
    From CCP Games
Last not but least I want to remind you of the current contest I've got organized with CCP where you'll have a chance to interview a CCP Dev during one of my podcasts! Make sure to submit your entry before next Wednesday! Read about it on my blog, on the EVE Online site, and discuss it on the EVE Forums.

    As always, Fly Safe!

EVE Online Speedlinking for Saturday June 6th, 2009

It's been a very busy 2 weeks in the EVE blogging community. Indeed, early on Monday was added almost 300 new EVE blogs to my EVE Blogroll. The vast majority of the new blogs came over from Podlogs and Gamescribe, 2 new blogging platforms geared towards EVE Bloggers. Usually I list the new blogs on my Speedlinking posts, but in this case I've decided to part with tradition and only add those blogs which the owners have taken the effort to either post a comment on the Blogroll, or have written to me personally, letting me know about their new EVE blog. That's the list of blogs you'll find below.

Amongst the new blogs of the last 2 weeks:
Some in the EVE blogging community have voiced their concerns that so many new blogs might not be the best for the health of our nascent community. I amongst them, was certainly concerned enough to mention that quite a few of these new blogs might not be around for long, and may already have followed the Dodo. None though, have been as loud and elaborate in voicing their opinion then long time EVE blogger Spectre over at EVE Newb. You just have to head over and read "Your blog sucks". There's no way to sumarize that kind of post!

There you folks, see you again in 2 weeks. Well in regards to the Speedlinking that is! :D

EVE Online Speedlinking for Saturday May 23rd, 2009

Over the last week the EVE Blogging Community literally exploded with over 200 new EVE blogs! First there was the Podlogs EVE blogging platform which launch on May 11th. With some great looking themes for all your capsuleers' content, it currently lists almost 50 EVE blogs.

Then came GameScribe, launched earlier this week as part of contest with some great EVE Online loot. The results of weeks of work and preparation by @AnMiTh, the genious behind Titan Weekly and the EVE Network News, the site now bosts more than 170 blogs!

Suffice to say, I'm hard at work trying to add all those blogs to my EVE Blogroll!

Before the explosions of new blogs happened, a few new EVE blogs had gained my attention. These are listed below.

    New EVE Blogs:

    EVE Chronicles

    From the Community:

Oh by the way, readers familiar with the EVE Speedlinking series will have noticed that I've once again moved the day of the week when I post the lists of links. Life being what it is, it's much easier for me to post these posts over the week-end then it is during the week. Thus the new schedule. Hope you don't mind!

Newest EVE Online Blogs to be added!

Well it's Friday! And in the tradition of my ol' EVE Online Speedlinking days, when I had the time to roam the intertubes freely without the worry of a full time job, I've put together a list of the new EVE Blogs that have recently been added to the EVE Blogroll.

Please take a moment to visit each one and drop a few comments to let them know they're part of the family.

Welcome guys, we're happy to have you on board!

EVE Online Speedlinking for February 2nd, 2009

It's been over 5 weeks since my last Speedlinking post; a long wait for those of you who relied on these gatherings of EVE News. I apologize for the wait. Contrary to what some of you believed, Speedlinking is back, and is here to stay! Not only will I continue to cover EVE news, but I'll focus on covering what the EVE blogging community is writing and discussing. I'll still cover stories from our friends at Massively, Ten Ton Hammer or MMORPG.com, but the focus of the Speedlinking posts will be EVE Blogs, EVE podcasts and Dev Blogs.

Speaking of blogs, there's been an explosion of EVE Blogs over those 5 weeks. Nothing less than 20 new EVE blogs have be started. I'm still in the process of adding them to the EVE Blogroll, but in the mean time, please visit them using the links below!

The articles listed below only cover the last week or so. I couldn't list every interesting article publish over my absence, or else this post would have been 5 or 6 times longer. By focusing on the EVE Blogs, I'll be able to quickly put together these posts in order to have them done weekly. Thanks for your understanding.

I'm happy to be back with the Speedlinks and look forward to continue the EVE Blog coverage!

    Enjoy!

EVE Online Speedlinking for December 31st, 2008

Well here we are. The last Speedlinking post of 2008. Well it is for me and some of the folks west of the North American east coast. I'm working on a review of the past year, so I won't go into many details and wishes to you all. That'll be in tomorrow morning's post. So without further delays, here are the last links of '08! Enjoy!

EVE Online Speedlinking for December 19th, 2008

It's been 2 weeks now since my last Speedlink post and a lost has been going on - both in EVE and RL. The biggest news of the past 2 weeks has been the Starbase Exploit, which seems to be bigger than originally thought (by yours truly anyways). As always, CCP and the EVE Community will weather the storm, and will come out stronger as a result. Within a few days, we'll leave 2008 behind us, and embrace the New Year. And with it, new patches, new content, a new retail client and much more!

Just to keep you updated on my situation, over the last week, I've worked on adding new blogs to the EVE Blogroll, trying to compile the EVE Fanfest contest results, writing an EON article on the Fanfest, and some more. Oh and trying to play the game, cause you know, that's the whole idea eh!

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and am proud to see that the EVE Blogging Community has been hard at work providing you with amazing content over the last few weeks. Show them your love by dropping by their blogs and leaving as many comments as you can! They'll appreciate!

    Now on to the links!

EVE Online Speedlinking for December 5th, 2008

I'll be honest, this week I'm a tad more focused on RL, than on EVE. Despite this, and having gone through the EVE Blogsphere articles, I have to say the activity is not subsiding at all, and I'm quite happy to share the links below.

Also, this week we've got 8 new blogs added to the EVE Blogroll, for a grand total of 134. Now, I do know that I promised a clean-up of the list, which may, or may not reduce the total amount. At the very least you may see a few "Out of Date" or "No longer Active" appear next to some blogs. I'm on it, like Obama on Change!
