Meet Tzaaraek Menroo. Pirate-wannabe! [Skill Queue]

Name: Tzaaraek Menroo
{EAV_BLOG_VER:9c6d85d1119dfecd}
Male - Minmatar - Brutor - Slaved Child
Corp: Cosmic Encounter
In: 22 - Per: 26 - Ch: 17 - Will: 17 - Mem: 17

It's been a while since I've been looking at getting into piracy. Hell, reading all these stories got my blood flowing. A chance encounter during the EVE Fanfest put me in touch with a few Montrealers who suggested that piracy was the perfect play-style for someone like me with only shorts amount of play-time here and there. After a few lunch meetings with @maulos, he convinced me to join them. And so Tzaaraek was born.

The following list is the Skill Books I've got lined up for training - most of which I still need to acquire. Then it'll off to join my fellow buckaneers of Cosmic Encounter and let the fun begin.

In the mean time, your input and suggestions on my training, the ships I should look into and anything that would be helpful to a new pirate is welcome!

You'll want Signature Analysis to lock your targets before they can warp away!

Shameless self-promotion time!

I wrote that with the intention of helping people get into Piracy as fast as possible with the goal being Frigate combat. Looks like you're heading for Battlecruisers yourself...I think. If that list represents the order of your training, I'm not sure what you're going to do with the BC skill before training a Racial Cruiser skill. Perhaps it would be easier for people to comment with suggestions if we knew what the goal was?

Industry in lowsec...what is the point?
Why? To build rifters from the melted parts of your enemies, good sir!

Seems a little silly to just "train towards piracy". What you really need to do is train towards a specific ship/fit. From your skills it seems like you're training towards Mini cruisers/battlecruisers? You should probably just start with EFT'ing a Rupture and/or Hurricane fit and then figure out what skills are required to use those ships and the mods you equipped properly.

Also, you want to train your ship skills to at LEAST 3 before you using them, preferably 4 or 5. Flying a BC around with only Battlecruiser II is going to make you pretty gimped. Ship bonuses are multiplied by your skill with them... ie: if a ship gives 5% projectile damage, battlecruiser II will only give you 10% total whereas battlecruiser V would give you 25%.

All great advice CK. The best I can offer is to just get out there hunting, the rest comes naturally. As long as you're ruthless you'll do well.

Welcome to the league of extra-ordinary scoundrels.

Happy hunting...

Welcome to FWA, CK!

It looks like the guys (and yourself) already have you headed in the right direction. To echo Spectre a bit and knowing hoq QPIC flies, spec'ing Minnie you want to be looking at the 'Cane as probably your first stop. Tanking the gate guns is a priority, and your mates will certainly direct you on the best ways of doing that. Same goes for speedy target lock, just as was mentioned

Ships to think about for future are the Huginn, Broadsword and Scimitar, but those are pretty long-term projects.

See you in fleet! ^_^
