Some great photos of the EVE Fanfest 2006!

Before you start hating me for having had the chance to attend this year's fanfest, let it be known that the following pictures are not from me. This lucky son of a gun had the chance of flying in to Iceland and took some great photos of the fan festival. Additionally, he took some videos and you can watch them also.

Hopefully by this time next year I'll have my own photos and videos, and memories! I just have to plan for it, and convince my better-half that I deserve to go. This shouldn't be too hard right? I mean I did convince her to go to Vegas earlier this year. But then again, Celine Dion and O were on our agenda and last time I checked neither offer venues in Iceland. Damn!

Anyways, until that happens, I'll just have to read about it. Which reminds me, MMORPG.com has got some great articles on the fan fest, here, here, and some amazing ship comparison here.

EON issue #003 and me!

So as you know I subscribe to EON, the Official EVE Online Magazine. I received the 3rd issue earlier this week and started devouring it immediately. What a surprise I got when I came upon the EVE Gathering 2006 article (pages 10-11), a picture of my wife and I having dinner with the devs (Oveur, TomB and LeMonde)!! That's us in the middle picture (bottom) sitting our that table, all smiles.

This brought back great memories of the event, and of Vegas. What a town! I can't wait until next year's EVE Gathering.

EVE Online: EVE Gathering 2006 in Las Vegas

It's been over a week since my last post and there's a good reason for that. Last Tuesday, I flew to Las Vegas for a 5 day vacation and to attend the first ever EVE Gathering. I'd would have never believed Vegas was so much fun, even for someone who does gamble, but it was a blast!

I've always wanted to go to an EVE Fan fest in Iceland, but Vegas being that much closer, I could miss the opportunity. And I'm glad I went. I had a chance to meet some fellow PPL members (Bandus, Isuridae, Dontcha, Dr Seuss) and meet the Devs (Oveur, TomB, LeMonde, Kieron, ActiveAlli). My wife and I even got a chance to eat with Oveur, TomB, LeMonde and the ladies of EVE, having won a dinner with them.
