As I head out to see Monsters with friends, I'm obligated to share this trailer from another upcoming science fiction film that looks damn right amazing! You'll appreciate!
Looks pretty amazing, better than Skyline. Just one thing always bothers me about these movies: The realism.
Why would a species that can cross light years of interstellar space thta is bent on conquest bother to use weapons that are so primitive against humanity?
Theo: There's actually a really good Turtledove novel where the aliens in question had antigravity technology but only blackpowder weapons, because the method of antigravity was so simple and gave them so much power over every other primitive society that their understanding of the scientific method stagnated to the point where they never hit an "Industrial Revolution". So when they attacked humanity, they ended up getting owned. It's a really good story.
Actually, there's a story behind this. As I recall, the SF outfit behind Battle: LA scuttled down the road and helped make Skyline. Read it here ... http://www.thewrap.com/movies/column-post/skyline-and-battle-los-angeles-release-date-fight-20168

I don't know. The aliens are probably going to lose in the end, because any other ending would upset the focus groups too much.
Ah... this is the Resistance Fall of Man movie (or at least it is based on it)
