I started this blog back in 2005 as a place to think out loud about games and the communities that form around them. At the time, EVE Online had a habit of pulling people in deeper than expected — and I was no exception.
What began as a personal blog slowly turned into something bigger. Posts led to conversations. Conversations turned into regular features, podcasts, and community projects. Over the years, this site has received over 2.4 million pageviews, with thousands of comments along the way. Numbers aside, what mattered most was always the people who showed up, shared their views, and helped shape what this place became.
The focus has shifted over time, as it does. Life changes. So do interests. But the intent hasn’t. This is still a space for long-form thoughts on games, world-building, and the culture that grows when people care deeply about the same things — sometimes a little too deeply.
If you’ve been reading since the early EVE days, thank you for sticking around. And if you’ve just landed here, welcome. Take your time. Read a bit. And if something sparks a thought, say hello.
Same corner of the internet. Same curiosity. Fewer skill queues running in the background.

[June 2009 Update]
Massively.com has published an interview about me, this site, and the podcasts I do. Have a read and let me know what you think!
[September 2008 Update]
I’ve added a short video intro to help new readers get the most out of the site. It took about twenty takes before I was happy enough to upload it — but I had fun making it. What do you think?
[May 2008 Update]
I’ve joined the ranks of MMO bloggers over at Massively.com. My column, Have Clone, Will Travel, is a bi-weekly feature on EVE Online. Drop by anytime and let me know your thoughts!

Hey Mike,
Yes I'm interested. You've got a promising MMO blog.
Link exchange approved!
Cheers mate!
Hi David;
I've a notion for an EVE blog Competition I'd like to bounce off you. Can you drop me a mail at gothwalk@gmail.com to discuss?

Heya,
Like Mike above, I'm also interested in a link exchange. I'm building a blog/forum/etc. for the EVE-O corp some friends and I started a few weeks ago and have been steadily growing. We're just getting started, but we're going to be around for quite a while. I've been looking at others' blogs for ideas and insights into what I should do with ours and I like alot of what you've got going on here.
The more traffic and input I can get pointed at our site, the more quickly it'll evolve into a more complete internet entity like yours.
Check us out at defiasblog.insurmountablelogic.com and let me know if you're interested.
(I've set the blog and forum up on subdomains of insurmountablelogic.com which I own; also, please keep in mind that we're just starting with the website, so there's a touch of incompleteness left to resolve once we decide what would be most advantageous in those areas)
Fly safe,
Ern

Hi,
I was wondering if you'd be interested in yet another link exchange. I have an Eve blog that I'm just getting off the ground called Derekest. It's derekest.wordpress.com.
Let me know what you think!
CK...as always great info on your site. I have come to regard it as the finest total blog ( news, game guides, great links) and I generally check it every day.
Would you be so kind as to ass "A Mule in space?" to your blogroll?
http://manasimule.blogspot.com/
Cheers and even if you dont add it Thanks for providing such a good resource.
Manasi
OMG! A handsome nerd! What IS the world coming to! Nice summary CK. Do more!
You're too sweet Mynxee! Thanks! =)
Cool, David. It's great that you're so active in the community. You've really been putting a lot of effort into making the EVE community more cohesive and it shows -- the Blog Pack in particular is a fantastic idea. CrazyKinux's Musing is a treasure trove of information for me, both as a player and as someone who keeps an eye on what's happening with the game.
This is a site that every EVE player should have bookmarked.
Thanks for the kind words James. I have indeed invested a lot of time and effort in building and helping out the EVE Community.
The Community is what drives EVE's success and if I can help in anyway, if I can make a difference for a new player starting up, than I'm accomplished my goals.
You yourself, have been a great help in driving folks here with your pimping of this blog and its various posts. For that I thank you dearly!! =)
Mynxee calls you handsome eh...? :) Better watch out there might be a kidnapping of CK by the hellcats! Hold him for ransom ladies I'll bet you get loads of money! Great video hoss, I liked it. Cheers and whatever else they say in Canada to someone who has done a kick ass job!
Kidnapped? Woh!!! Never thought of that one. Better get myself some Minmatar bodyguards!

Free PC Gamers seems to be a great site!
Added your link to the MMO Ramblings blogroll!!
Cheers!
Hi,
I'm wondering whether you would be interested in being a guide writer for our website? We are a quality website that offers guides and walkthroughs for various MMORPG games. We are looking for someone to write guides for EVE. I think you would make a good writer from what I've seen so far in your page.
Please consider this offer, and don't hesitate to hit me back at zorro.entertainment.software@gmail.com.
Thanks,
Phil

Hello,
I am a new player, I would like to hear you veterans' thoughts on the mission nerf (reduction in quality of loot table/salvaging and more importantly how agents will give you low sec missions. )
