As I type this I'm sitting down in the living room typing away on the laptop, somewhat upset. You see, my problem is two fold. First, I've lost a brand spanking new Celestis to 2, maybe 3, enemy pilots, who finished me up by podding me. I kind of blame myself for this one, cause I headed off onto a 19 jumps trip to 49-U with a new set-up I had barely put in, and not even tested. Duh! That'll teach me.
My second, and most frustrating issue though is that I can't log back into EVE. After being podded and waking up in Badivedfi, I tried to activate the Medical facilities to buy a new clone. But I was getting no response from the GUI. So I decided to log out and in of the EVE client, thinking that this should do the trick.
Well if I'm here typing away on the laptop, you know that I wasn't able to get back in. So unfortunately, I won't be able to share the Celestis setup that got me in this predicament. That'll have to wait until the time I can log back in and get the evemails. All I know at this time is that it was most likely two pilots from Rens (?) or Triple A; two entities with which FIX is at war. I'll let you know later.
What I 'can' tell you now though, is that you need to test you ship's setup before heading too far out in low sec or unfriendly space. Or else it can cost you dearly, as it did for me tonight!
I've learned my lesson.
On that note folks, Good night and Good luck!

Phoenix Labs looking for new members

My corporation, Phoenix Propulsion Laboratories, is currently recruiting. When I rejoined PPL a few weeks back, I had some very good reasons for doing so. Phoenix Propulsion Labs is a small giant, that is, we're not a big corp by any means, but because of our mode of operation we have a much bigger footprint. And how do you do that you might ask, simple, you give everything back to the corp.
Because of this military communistic approach to corporate structure, PPL has several POS, operates in zero sec space as part of the FIX Alliance. We are a manufacturing corp which was listed as one of the top 10 industrial corps in EVE. By providing the corp with all your loot and isks, you get ships, ammunition, drones, skill books and much more. It's a win-win situation.
The support operations we have are also quite impressive. In addition to a well put together web site and active forum, we have a Member Section where a pilot can manage his skills training with defined paths to specific skill sets (see this post on becoming a Gallente battleship commander). This is where pilots request new ships, new clone contracts, new skills and all the benefits of belonging to PPL.
And as with any corp in EVE, we go through cycles. Our ranks rise-up, we pick-up momentum, and then they fall. Currently were operating with a much smaller crew than what we'd like, and what we can afford to, given the size of our assets. So that's where the recruiting, and you come in.
If you're looking for a dedicated bunch of pilots, opportunities for advancement to leadership positions, we have a wide range of positions available: manufacture, research, sales, starbase maintenance officer, exploration, invention, capital ship pilot, mission runner, mining and transport. We operate in 0.0 space and still require access to Empire for trade purposes.
We currently have members from most North American time zones, and one mate in Australia (that's you Sapater). European pilots are also welcome of course, though we currently only have one player I believe.
So if you're interested in joining us, come and chat with us on the SHOP@PPL channel, then head over and apply!
Hope to see you soon in corp channel!

The mission grinder
Well I'm at it again, working for a Royal Khanid Navy agent, who goes by the name of Toyosha Garana. A nice fella, who seems willing to give me interesting missions - and he's seems to have a lot on his hands these days anyways. All my missions were in Badivefi tonight, so I didn't have to leave the system; a good thing since our alliance, FIX, is at war again, this time against the Privateer Alliance.
So I was at it all evening, clearing drone infestation, retrieving stolen goods and information and executing known criminals. It feels good to be back home. Hopefully I have a few more days in Badi, before PPL's execs send me out again. Though fighting the good fight for FIX is always an honour!

We made news in the "Alliance News"
About 2 week-ends ago the alliance of which Phoenix Labs is part had a major battle with the AAA. At the time we were obligated by the executive branch of FIX to keep quiet and say nothing of it, since we we're defending an egg (the building block for a Player Owned Station - POS). Well I just read that we made the Alliance news!
QUERIOUS. Firmus Ixion (FIX) has successfully erected their first outpost in the Querious region following a short but violent conflict between alliances based in the south. Firmus Ixion was defending their latest outpost construction effort with gathered allies against a vicious attack launched by Against All Authorities (AAA) from the Catch region. (Read More)
