Mike Azariah has spent nearly two decades showing that trust often matters more than ISK in New Eden. When Rixx and I sat down with him this past weekend, he walked us through the early blogging days (him and I go way back, to my days as the Blog Father), Operation Magic School Bus, his CSM campaigns, and what it actually means to lead from the edges.
We talked some more about CSM work, what members do, why voting blocs matter, and how the council sometime steers decisions it won't always see through. We talk Mike's part in bringing the Bowhead into the game, his fierce independence, and the friendships that outlast elections and exploded spaceships.
Throughout the conversation, he's exactly what longtime EVE players know: thoughtful, mischievous, quietly sharp. He knows when to argue and when to listen. He also knows how to disarm an angry player in Rookie Help with a particularly dangerous form of kindness. Poor kid!
For him, the spaceships have always been secondary. They're just the place where we meet and help each other.
It was a lot of fun to talk with a legend who still shows up.
Have a listen and let us know your thoughts!
Fly safe. o7
