Announcing The Safe Spot: a new EVE podcast (first episode Feb 10!)

EVE Online has a funny way of sticking with you.

Even when you're away from the game for a long period of time, you still remember that first undock into the unknown... and getting instantly podded the moment you jumped into null-sec. That moment where you had to decide: am I done, or am I learning something here?

That's the spark behind The Safe Spot — a new podcast Rixx Javix and I are launching.

And yeah — part of this is me getting hit with a(nother) wave of nostalgia. Years ago I used to record The Drone Bay with Crovan and Alsedrech, and I still remember how fun it was to just talk EVE with good people and let the conversation roam. This feels like coming back to that… but with fresh eyes, new stories, and a slightly healthier respect for sleep.

The Safe Spot isn't be a news show or a drama microscope. It's two long-time pilots comparing notes and swapping stories. The kind that help you make better decisions in-game, enjoy the ride more, and bounce back faster when things go sideways.

If you're new, returning, or just trying to find your footing in a game that doesn't exactly come with handrails... this is for you.

Before we get into formats or release dates, here's what matters most: the promise we're making with every episode.

The Safe Spot Manifesto

EVE is beautiful. EVE is brutal. That's the point.

The Safe Spot exists because we love EVE as a living sandbox where choices matter, people matter, and every undock is an act of courage. We're not here for drama, meta shouting, or nullsec theater; we're here to make EVE make sense.

We believe new players deserve respect, veterans deserve more than recycled takes, and "getting good" means learning how to think, adapt, and keep flying after you explode. We focus on what actually keeps pilots in the game: finding direction, finding (or leaving) your people, handling loss and burnout, learning without turning EVE into a second job, and becoming useful, confident, and dangerous at your own pace.

EVE isn't just ships and skills; it's culture, trust, stories, and mistakes that become legends. Our promise is simple: clarity over hype, curiosity over ego, and practical wisdom over performative expertise — with some fun along the way.

This is a safe spot not from danger, but from confusion.

Breathe, learn, laugh, undock again.

Fly brave. Fly smart. Fly with purpose.

What’s next

Right now, we’re aiming for a biweekly show, with episodes landing in the 30–45 minute range. Long enough to go somewhere interesting, short enough that you don’t need a weekend and a snack tray to finish it.

We’re recording our very first episode tonight, and the plan is to publish it next Tuesday (February 10, 2026) — then keep rolling every other Tuesday after that.

And before we get too far ahead of ourselves: we want your questions and topic ideas.

What do you want us to unpack, debate, explain, or poke at with a stick?

Are you new and stuck on something that should be simple but isn’t?

Returning and overwhelmed by all the changes?

Curious about corp culture, burnout, loss, confidence, “what do I do next,” or anything else that makes you stare at the screen and go “welp”?

Drop your suggestions in the comments, or email me directly: CrazyKinux[at]gmail.com. Eventually we'll set up a Google form to track all that.

Until then, we’ll see you in space.
