Out of Eden: Armored Core For Answer

I grew up dreaming about giant robots, watching Robotech on week-end morning, collecting comic books, and RPG books such as Jovian Chronicles, Robotech, Heavy Gear, and loving all those other anime features (Patlabor anyone?). So when I saw this trailer for an upcoming Xbox 360 game, well I just went bananas!!

Cool eh!

[UPDATE 28 August, 2008: GameSetWatch has a great review on the game itself, and some reservations.]

This is pretty cool. Wasn't Armored Core that game with the very expensive/complex controller, a few years back?

I grew up with Robotech as well. It was on each weekday morning for us and consistently made me almost miss the bus. It was only a few years ago that I learned each of the Robotech iterations (Macross, Masters, Invid) were *completely different* shows in Japan, with no connection to one another. The N. American release involved them getting the rights to the three different shows and blending them into one storyline for us.

Not sure if it was that one. You mean the one where the controller for the game cost more then the XBOX? Might be.

As for Robotech, Carl Macek did a phenomenal job tying in these 3 seperate stories around the Invid Flower of Life (which was the source of the Protoculture). Man, talking about this brings a flood of memeories! =)

James, the game you are thinking of was Steel Battalion by Capcom - it came with a massive controller, with 20-some buttons, 2 sticks and loads of dials and switches.

Armored Core has been around for a long time, and the above version is something like the 13th title now.

Thanks for the added information and correction. Well, after 13th tries they're likely to get it right this time around! =) jk!

Thanks Kelduum. That's the one I confused Armored Core with.

Now I'm going to have to check if Amazon's got the whole Robotech series available... preferably in one big box.
