But, since I still wanted to give you a little something before getting some much deserved rest, I thought I'd share this little short video with you. It was taken during today's presentation on Walking in Station (WiS - as opposed as Flying in Space; FiS as CCP puts it) by Torfi, EVE's new Senior Producer.
Within the station environments, players will be able to play mini-strategy-games against an AI, or each other. The video below showcases the start of such a game, SecWars. It's not much, but it gives you an understanding of the attention to detail that CCP is putting into WiS. It also looks like a lot of fun, and something I could waste a few hours on.
What do you think? I know the video was long and didn't show much, but it at least gives you a hint. Impressed eh?

WOW, looks freaking sweet!
Sure beats spinning when you're camped in a station! Cheers for sharing!
woohoo, gambling for ships and sweet iskies! very nice!
Neat! Looking forward to a couple of games with small wagers of course.
Hey, there are two videos from your Flickr stream, 6464 and 6465, that don't look like anything in Eve at all, the one with the sunlit arches. In fact I *swear* I saw just that demo in a talk about 3d lighting during GDC '08. What's the deal?
His accent is just like Bjorks!
Also that table reminds me of the "Reactable" which Bjork uses on her Volta album ;D
Im not sure I like where this is heading...
Small games implemented inside eve. Next step is that people can upload their owngames and content and then we no longer have eve.
I do like the idea of added characters that can hold corp meetings/trade and so forth.
Bare in mind people that though WiS will of course please a lot of the current player base (including yours truly), CCP is trying to also attract a different kind of player with this future expansion. But, as Torfi said, they're not trying to create 2 separate games within EVE, but more a complete SciFi experience.
And yes Faraelle, those two videos are of a Geometrics demo not WiS. See this post for further details.
@Wotlankor - From what I've heard, CCP will NEVER allow anyone to import a mini-game, or textures, or objects in WiS. They're keeping a complete control of what goes in, or of the range of freedom people will have in creating objects.
The "look" of EVE is their Holy Grail, and they'll never allow someone to tamper with it. Period.
Hope tat you're reassured now. :p
