10 Posts for the EVE Online Newbie

They say "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life."

With the list below I'm trying to achieve the latter for the new players of EVE. Looking back over the last 3 years of existence of this blog (come this November), I've gone through hundreds of posts and located a few good ones that I believe will be helpful to the new capsuleers (and maybe remind the vets passing by). I know they have over the years for me!

It's just my way of saying thanks for dropping in and sticking with me for so long!

On to the list now:
  1. 21 EVE Online acronyms for newbies
  2. 10 sites for every new EVE Online Player
  3. 10 things every EVE Online player should know
  4. Finding Agents and increasing your Standings in EVE
  5. An Exploration Tutorial Video
  6. Finding the right corporation in EVE Online
  7. EVE Online Corporations links
  8. EVE Online Reference, Tools & Guides links
  9. EVE Online links, revisited!
  10. The EVE Online Blog Pack

  11. Massively's EVE Online new player guide
I hope that you'll find the list useful. A lot of the links here are provided in the menu at the top of the page. The list will certainly evolve over time, and grow as I make new discoveries and share them with you.

Enjoy and fly safe!

[UPDATE: If you want to promote this post on the EVE Forums, simply bump it!]

Thanks guys. That's exactly what I was thinking when I put the list together earlier.

Since the forums are such a pain to search, doing it this way makes it a lot easier to get to what you need. And this holds true for both newbies as well as players like us.

It's really hitting me lately just how god awful the search function is at EVE O. I pretty much always need to turn to EVE Search Praise Chribba! to find anything. I should stress that anytime EVE Files (praise chribba) or EVE Search (praise chribba) is mentioned or written, it should immediately be followed by the words Praise Chribba!

I've invoked his name 4 times. I'm waiting for him to appear beside me in a puff of veldspar smoke.

This is a great list of links....and very convenient to point people here. Might have to add it to my bio.

Crazy, thanks for the list mate. I have been toying with EVE for sometime and always run away like a frightened wee rabbit at the sheer size and complexity of it all. Is it too much to ask however for the best starting noob class and prof?

There is no "best starting noob class and prof", that the beauty of EVE. Whatever you interested in doing, just go and do it. Learn the skills acquire the wealth and have fun.

If after a while you want to change career, then go ahead. Train for something else.

It's all up to you!

Thanks for leaving the comment on my blog . That inspired me to take another look at EvE - and I have another blog post up !

I am still not sure whether I will continue with EvE or not. Its a nice simulation, but as a game, I find it lacking.

Thanks for stopping by vibbhu!

My only suggestion is that you should join a corporation (EVE's equivalent to a Guild) as soon as you can! There's a whole side of EVE you're missing out on.

This is great, thanks for doing such a post for noobs. It's helped me a lot already! I'll link back to it in a post (if you don't mind) from my EVE blog when I get some more followers.

They need to advertise. The value of a product or service, the quality of a service or product and the possibility of a service or product does not matter if nobody knows about the service or product. If they do not know about your service or product, you can not do online.
